Before installing GUI BLAST, you should have installed:
NCBI BLAST: Download
Python: Download
BioPython: Download
WxPython: Download
When the system is under development, you should install all this programs before running GUI BLAST. I hope to make an easy to install .exe for Windows near the final release.
The system requirements depend of the blast database size. If you plan to use the "nr" databse, at minimun of 256 Mb of RAM is recommended (the bigger, the better).
